Happy Tuesday all. I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. The settlement was filled with happy, smiling people that were spending time with their family and friends, making those memories that will last a lifetime. That’s why we are here folks. Serving great food and helping people make those memories.
And the reason I am here this morning is to share with you another of my most favorite recipes. As I sit here in my back porch, in a hoodie, drinking my coffee and still felling a little chilly. Because “Fall” dropped in yesterday and dropped those temps down to “morning hoodie weather”. As I was still not ready for this transition, I feel the need for some comfort food. And folks, nothing say’s fall and comfort food quite like fried biscuits and apple
butter.
This is quick, easy and oh so yummy. Just the way I like it. Maybe this will make saying goodbye to summer sting just a little less.
Now all you will need a can of biscuits. I use the regular, non-layered kind. A medium sauce pan or deep fryer. Your cooking oil of choice. I use vegetable oil. Half a cup of sugar mixed with ½ teaspoon cinnamon. And 1 jar of Patti’s Apple Butter.
Whether you are using a deep fryer or a saucepan on the stove, heat your oil at medium heat. Using a higher heat will give you crispy, but doughy biscuits. When oil is heated drop 2 to 3 biscuits at a time into the oil. fry them around 2 minutes on each side. Then place on paper towel to absorb extra oil. When all your biscuits are fried, roll them in your bowl of cinnamon sugar, giving them a light coating.
Bowl up the apple butter for dipping and serve. This will be a “go to” recipe on these chilly mornings. And since I was needing some extra comfort today, I may or may not have had a slice of bacon with my apple butter biscuits. Just sayin. I hope you enjoy this sweet treat as much as I do.
As usual I have added a printable recipe card. Let me know what you think.
Until Next Time,
Beverly

This was such a warm and enjoyable read, and it really captures the comfort-food charm that makes traditional recipes so special. The combination of fried biscuits with apple butter sounds simple but very nostalgic and satisfying. The way you explained the topic was very clear and helpful, and I recently came across a similar discussion on a review blog, which offered an interesting perspective as well. I also noticed through https://www.sherwaytrilliumdental.ca/ how food traditions like this continue to connect people through shared cultural memories and experiences.
