Holiday Cider

Happy Tuesday all. Hope you all have been well. I had to skip last weeks blog due to everything we had going on at the settlement. Those of you that are familiar with Patti’s you know that this is our busiest time of the year. We were decorating the hotel, hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser, hosting a Booze N Brush, we held the Patti’s Festival of Lights lighting event last Friday and had our Christmas Open House on Saturday. Each event was a

wonderful success and we look forward to doing them all again.

This time of year can be a little challenging for most people with work, and holiday dinners and parties. So simplifying menu’s and holiday drinks are a must.

My favorite family friendly holiday drink is Hot Ruby. If you have ever had it you know the taste is synonymous with the holidays. And you can change it up so many ways. Hot or cold it is just the right touch for any gathering or even just as a special treat for

yourself on a chilly night.

Last year one of our kitchen managers was devastated that we had sold out of Hot Ruby, as he had planned to serve the hot cider mix at his family Christmas dinner. Much to his delight I had an extra bottle on hand and in the spirit of Christmas I was willing to share with my friend.

This cider, made with cranberry and citrus has a very distinct flavor yet is very versatile all well. You can add a variety of fruits to make the recipe your own.

I like to mix mine with apple cider and then garnish the drink with an apple slice that I add whole cloves for a visual effect. It is pretty as well as delicious.

Hot Ruby is available in Yesterday’s gift shop at Patti’s. And can also be purchased online at pattis1880s.com

I Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Happy Holidays to you and yours!!

Until Next Time
